The feeling after 8 hours on the plane when you just long for a breath of fresh air, but then you land in Doha at 2 am and once you step out of the plane, you're instantly hit by the intense heat you have never felt before. That was the first impression of Qatar, being incredibly hot. But beyond that, the country completely impressed me. From futuristic skylines to quiet desert landscapes, there was a striking mix of tradition and modernity. These photos capture a place that surprised me at every turn and left a lasting impression.
